Become a volunteer!

Volunteers are an essential part of our work at CTRD Trust. We welcome volunteers from different backgrounds and skills who are willing to share their time and talents with us and the tribal communities we serve. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to learn about the culture, history and challenges of the tribal people in the Nilgiris, as well as to contribute to their development and empowerment. Depending on your interests and abilities, you can choose from a variety of tasks.

Our Volunteers

Paulina

I feel honored to be part of CTRD Trust community for one year during which I will be volunteering in several projects. My name is Paulina, I am eighteen years old and I am a volunteer from Germany. By doing a volunteering service in India I expect to learn more about India´s traditions, cultures and society and to meet the world from a different perspective. Moreover, a volunteering service enables me to meet the local population on a personal level, to learn from natives directly, make new friends and be a part of the Indian society for a while. Simultaneously, I have the opportunity to give back by serving in local structures and working in projects supporting those.

Lorenz

Hey, I’m Lorenz, an 18-year-old volunteer from Germany. I’m having a blast here, working on creative projects with the kids, like painting or making music. I also like to cook and play some guitar in my free time. I came to India because I was curious about the amazing culture and the yummy food. I’m really happy at CTRD and I get to do things that I’m passionate about, like building a traditional bread oven on the campus.

As a volunteer, you will be part of our team and receive guidance and support from our staff. You will also have the chance to interact with other volunteers and local people, and to explore the beautiful natural surroundings of the Nilgiris. We expect you to be respectful, responsible and committed to our mission and values. We also ask you to cover your own travel and living expenses, as well as a small contribution to our administrative costs.
